Strengthening Communities through Collaborative Actions

Our basic mission is to Help People Help Themselves. The Hopi name Lomasumi'nangwtukwsiwmani, signifies the process of furthering unity of aspiration blossoming into full maturity over time.  We believe in attending to the community in which we live and in the skills of our people.

The Hopi Foundation exemplifies the Hopi teaching of "Itam naapyani" or doing the work ourselves. Established by local Hopis, we promote self-sufficiency, proactive community participation in our own destiny, self-reliance, and local self-determination.

It is the goal of The Hopi Foundation to ensure that the voice of the Hopi is not vanquished and that it can find expression in the contemporary world.
